Too many people sound too excited here. Guys, Chavez jr and Arum r gonna find a way to not fight Martinez. As much as I want to see the fight, I say it has a ten percent chance of happening. Arum will find a way to get Chavez some other generic title. But if chavez vacates the title, then I think we cud see a Cotto-Alvarez battle coming up

Chavez can still fight in Feb if both sides come to a agrement considering Serg has a March date set-up as well against Macklin who is promoted by Dibella so there's that snag.
So they could end up not fighting each other in there next bouts with a lead-up to a summer PPV that's what seems most likely anyway HBO has those dates lined up for both guys and will prob try to build this up.

There is no way in HELL Jr is fighting Maravilla.. Consider that belt to be around Maravilla... Jr is gna get embarassed so bad on HBO if he decides to fight Maravilla... Jr is going to fight Fraudnello for a bigger pay day.. Maravilla is an atheltic freak of nature, sure he has a weird stance, sure he has his hands to his side when he fights.. But until now he is considered the best at 160 and I will go on record to say if he came down to fight at 154, he wld be the best at 154.. The only man tha will beat him is FMJ... Because as we all know FMJ is the greatest P4P fighter in the last decade... Bye Bye Jr...

Then he won't get the Cotto fight because that is the only reason Miguel would consider fighting him and outside of a Pacquiao fight is the only thing Arum has to keep Cotto. Cotto really wants that 4th tittle in as many divisions and Chavez Jr is the easiest of the champions in that division and the biggest name.

In the end I think they will get around it and Chavez won't have to fight Martinez.

That's right! The WBC promised Sergio a shot on demand when they stripped him to make room for Chavez to win the title. Chavez was able to face Manfredo Jr. Now it's time to fight or cough that title up.

Paying Martinez money to step aside. It happens all the time in boxing when you don't want to face a mandatory because of a bigger fight you go to the other camp in this case Martinez and you offer him a deal to step aside for one fight.
