Super six made the supermiddleweight division stars

AT least to us boxing fans i remember before this tourney started no one gave a **** behind about the supermidldleweight division .

It has now become a powerhouse weight class with endless matchups ..

Caint wait for the next tournament wouldnt mind showtime showcasing cruiserweights next that division really needs exposure

I remember when that punk KELLY PAVLIK laughed at these guys for signing with showtime even ridiculed them ......

Look at where kelly is now compared to the others lmao

    that's what I've been saying.

People aren't too thrilled about a middleweight tournament but I think it would create some stars. Get Pirog, Kid Chocolate, Gennady and a few others and it would be another great international tournament. These three guys I mentioned are all very solid fighters but hardly anyone knows them. Sergio Martinez can't find a good opponent? Fine, make the MW tournament and the winner fights him, that will create a ton of buzz.

Worked for SMW, worked for bantamweight, would love to see it done for MW, just not in the long-ass span that the Super 6 took lol

More tourneys, they are the way forward. The S6 and bantamweight made such good viewing, i hope the TV companies jump on it and stick up good money for some

it would have to be a single elimination kind of tournament though

the Super six, a great idea, but an idea that doesn't work that well in reality

3 fighters out before the third round...

Although it didn't work out as originally planned, the Super Six has given us some great fights.

I agree w/single elimination. Too much stuff obviously can happen with the round robin and of course it took like 2 years or so to complete.

Just get 6-8 MW's, single elimination. Let them shine.

get 8 of the top middlweights and do single elimination just like the showtime bantamweight tournament the losers of the previous rounds fight each other. pirog-lee, geale-quillan, proksa-barker/murray, golovkin-njikam. none of these guys are stars so why not. martinez and chavez jr can fight bums while its going on since that's what they've been doing anyway.

I love idea of these touraments. It only brings publicity and matches the best against the best. How long would it have taken for all of these fights to happen if not for the tournament?
