  • Canelo vs. Mosley - 2012 ... you in? Who you got?

I have a feeling this fight could really happen. Both are Golden Boy partners and Mosley is a name at this point, something Canelo's team is looking for. Mosley is past his best so they're more than likely looking at this option. Canelo is also looking to fight guys who other big names have fought to prove he can beat them as well. The fight makes a lot of sense when you think about it from a business point of view.

Not to mention this is Oscar's idea of making "big fights" happen in 2012.

Would you like to see it happen? Who do you got?

I hate the idea of Mosley still entering a ring at this point but I actually think he is more than able to beat Canelo. Not a 100% sure though.

Not one bit interested, not only is Mosley done, at 154 he performs worse. Just a garbage fight as a whole.

Shane trying to get some revenge for Larry Mosley? lmao

this fight sucks but it's a good name for Canelo.

I mean maybe shane turns the clock back but I doubt it. I think he's done

I think so too, agree a 100%. I don't want to see Mosley in a ring against but from their side of the fence this is an attractive fight for all parties involved.

For Mosley, if he wins, it would be an express ticket to another big fight since he beat this young, undefeated prospect. You know how Oscar will hype it up to a big fight.

For Canelo, it would "prepare" him as a tuneup (if Mosley is indeed washed up) or it would still prepare him if Mosley put up an actual fight. Also it would be a nice name to add to his resume and depending on how he beats him, his extra push at a big fight.

Mosley is a big league kind of name still, not a big league fighter but the name has some weight to it. Canelo would get into that "names that are thrown around constanty" pool. The Cotto, Margarito, Mayweather, Marquez, Pacquiao, etc.

And with Mosley mentioning that big things are coming in 2012, that people better be ready and Oscar confirming they'll be doing some big fights ... you just got to wonder.

Mosley ain't getting any fights with Mayweather or Pacquiao again, if that's what he wants, until he surprises with a performance against somebody else. Maybe Cotto, Margarito... who knows. But for Cotto a fight with Mosley at this point doesn't make sense and Margarito is losing appeal.

Canelo/Mosley is the best option in the Golden Boy stable.

Canelo, Mosley's past it, been a little inactive and it doesn't help that this fight is at 154, where Mosley never really looked great in. Mosley has had the benefit of being a big welterweight and fighting those guys at 147, even at his age and more importantly at this stage of his career, he can probably still be competitive against some of them. But at 154, he's undersized and wouldn't have that advantage, and his power wouldn't have the same affect. Canelo is too young, too hungry, and he has decent skills, and solid punching power. I'd hate to see Mosley get seriously hurt. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, he could, possibly be competitive, but he'll need a knockout anyway, no way does Oscar allow Canelo to lose a decision. Unless the money is seriously undeniable, no reason to take this fight.

                    1. Mosley gave up his share in Golden Boy when he signed with Top Rank to fight Pacquiao.
                    2. Absolutely NO! I never want to see Shane in a meaningful fight again. He's done, shot, finished. Time to hand them up Shane.
