    incorrect.

He beat Trnidad, Pavlik, Tarver, Glen Johnson, Pascal & Oscar without any "dirty" tactics. He schooled them, straight up, by boxing and his IQ.

He's had some dirty fights, no doubt, but typically they weren't his biggest. Calzaghe, Winky & Echols he fought dirty. Those fights pale in comparison to the ones mentioned above.

Yeah Hopkins "clinched" a lot of wins against smaller undersized opponents in his day. (pun intended)
But I can't help but think if it were any other boxer using the same tactics he uses they would've been DQ'd multiple times already.
It's like we expect Bhop to cheat so we say that is just Bhop doing a "veteran" move but he's just cheating.
My respect for Hop has been up and down I thought he won both Pascal fights thought he hugged his way to beating Winky and recently I'm displeased with his piggybacking of Dawson.
So right now I don't respect him much.

"Soapy" does deserve respect. He has won most of his biggest fights even at a late age

People make too much about B-Hop beating smaller opponents.

He beat Tito a former WW true. But, Tito destroyed at worse the 2nd best MW at the time. Tito not only beat Joppy beat dominated and destroyed. So much so that you could have and many did rank Tito as the best MW at that time. At worse Tito was #2 at MW behind Hopkins when the fought. At that time Hopkins beat the best MW available. Name me another MW better than Tito(not named Hopkins) at that time?

Oscar- Now this one was different. Oscar was smaller. Went to 160 had a very controversial win. But, that fight was at a catch-weight of what 158? Hopkins even came in 2 pounds lighter than the catch-weight at 156 while Oscar weighed in at 155. Eliminated some of his size advantage which helped Oscar out more so.

Winky-I would say that he was smaller. But, it's not one of B-Hop best wins either.

Pavlik-You can say he was smaller. But, he was the big favorite. Most people thought Hopkins was done at that point. Pavlik was going to run over him.

Besides that who? Calzaghe was not smaller, I'm not even sure who else you can name.

and oscar is oscar. no one would ever not fight oscar.

pavlik had numberous fights in his career at that point at 168, its not like he was a stranger to fighting guys that size.

people frequently say bhop was a big mw and use that to discredit his mw reign. it's funny the imaginations people have.

Ain't nobody crying bruh we discussing and debating this like mature individuals.
Nobody said anything about Bhop that is not true or public opinion.
It's ironic that you're crying about me expressing my opinion something that this forum is for. Now discuss the topic or stfu.

Absolutely, the man is a legend.

I lost a bit of it with his antics in the Dawson fight (which I still believe he used as a way out), but over his career; how can you not respect B-Hop?

I can respect his record but I have zero respect for the man. He talked a good one that he was going to put a whipping on Dawson and all types of wild gangster talk then proceeded to ***** up. Give me a ppv refund then my respect will return a little bit or rematch Dawson on free HBO.
