Hopkins don't want to end up damaged goods from the ass whoopin Chad will put on him. If Hopkins knows what is best for him, he will retire and let the elite fighters fight. There is no closure to the situation unless he fights Chad.

He was on his back because Dawson hooked his legs and tossed him. He didn't get up because he had a tear in his shoulder. I dont know if you understand how bad something like that hurts. The MRI confirmed the tear btw. As far as him being scared...ha ha, Hopkins has fought nothing but the best his career. If he was scared he would have never agreed to fight Dawson and he would have just vacated. Check your facts homie, Hopkins wanted the rematch. It's Dawson who said no to it. Stop being so ignorantComment

Tell your boy he needs to rematch Dawson. Hopkins had no problem fighting Allen 10 times because of the controversy in their bout....He was on his back because Dawson hooked his legs and tossed him. Too much is made of Dawson hooking hopkins leg, when it was Hopkins who initiated the whole fiasco by diving onto Dawson's back.
By the way, since when does a hurt shoulder keep anybody from standing up?Comment

It's not what's best for boxing as a sport. If the lineal title means anything the titlist has to defend against the best possible opponents. Ali never refused to fight any top contenders on the grounds that they weren't a box office draw. I would like to see Dawson rematch Pascal fist, and if he wins, as I believe he would, then Hopkins should either face him or voluntarily relinquish his lineal title.By Jake Donovan - Bernard Hopkins versus Chad Dawson for the lineal light heavyweight championship of the world.
It was always a fight that was intriguing on paper from a historical context but threatened to bomb in the ring and at the box office.
A verdict reached by the California State Athletic Commission on Tuesday suggested the boxing equivalent of a wedding annulment. The original technical knockout verdict was overturned and changed to a no-contest, which is to suggest that the fight never happened at all.
Perhaps that’s what is best for all involved.[Click Here To Read More]Comment

He does look a bit simple in that photo. All he needs is a nice string of drool hanging from his lip to complete the effect. It really bothers me how Boxingscene always uses this same picture of Hopkins when ever they do a cover story on him. The picture is not very flattering and personally, I feel like they use it to make him look less intelligent. Just my opinion though. Change it up Boxingscene.
Is there some ulterior motive here? Some agenda?
Cue the spooky conspiracy music...
Only half joking. They could find a much better photo to use.Comment
