Comments Thread For: R. Mayweather: I think Floyd Will Fight Pacquiao on May 5

Roger Mayweather, trainer of WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (43-0, 26KOs), expects his nephew to fight WBO champ Manny Pacquiao (54-3-2, 38KOs) on May 5th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. While negotiations have broken down in the past, several times, Roger told BoxingScene.com that he's very confident about the fight taking place. Both fighters are running out of opponents and the money is too great, says Roger.

Will only believe it will happen when they both sign the contracts.

    Everything else is white noise.

        I agree. I won't be excited until it's official.

Hmmm college commencement on that day. Guess if the contracts get signed I won't be walking...
Did I just read (hopefully they didn't twist the words around) that Roger admitted Pacquiao said he would take the PED test? Nothing should be stopping it now!

If Pacquiao doesn't fight Floyd his fan base is not going to forgive him. It's a slap in the face to all those who believe he is the Pound for Pound king. It will make him look like his ducking Floyd.
