By Scott Gilfoid: Manny Pacquiao has been strangely quiet about the loss of his good friend Amir Khan and it seems rather unlike Pacquiao not to speak up publically and say some comforting words about his good pal Khan. Could it be that Pacquiao wasn’t quite so happy with the comments Khan made about Pacquiao after his questionable 12 round decision recently against Juan Manuel Marquez.
For those who may have forgot, Khan said this about Pacquiao in an interview at the London Telegraph: “I’m going to tell Manny to consider retirement and not go on too long. He was lucky he got away with it against Marquez…In our sparring lately, he’s [Pacquiao] not the one getting the better of it.”
Khan also said he thought Pacquiao lost to Marquez, although he changed his opinion later after watching the fight a second time. I know if I were Pacquiao I’d feel weird that Khan was suggesting that I retire and/or thinking I lost. It would seem as if Khan was just waiting to take place or something in the boxing hierarchy.
I wonder if Khan’s comments are the reason why Pacquiao isn’t coming out with messages of support for his old buddy?
