    Juan Lazcano is back!

Second fight for Lazcano who took a year off after losing a brutal fight to Jose Luis Castillo.
He came back at 140,his first fight he won an easy first round ko but last night he faught a savy 140 pound Burton. The fight was a little rough in the first half but as soon as Lazcano started landing his combos and power punches it was over by ko in round # 9. There was talk of Lazcano going back down to 135 and challenging Jesus Chavez for his championship belt. I personally think Lazcano can ko Chavez after 6. Lazcano is a beast at 135 and he proved it when he fought Castillo to the very last second and even after the final bell . Id like to see a Lazcano and Corrales matchup. It would be a great fight for those who know.
discuss.............Lazcano's future. How far can he get with his new trainer Freddy Rouch?

Roach will improve him but Roach is also a little overextended at this point, so it's hard to know how much Roach attention he'll really receive.

He showed early he could outbox Burton, but when Burton closed the space and made it inside he took some punishment. Had Burton a tad more power he might've have Lazcano in a bit of trouble. Lazcano has some decent skills, but his speed is only average and he lacks that big KO punch though he showed decent power against Burton. It just means he likely won't hold a belt at 140, and certainly couldn't beat Corrales or Castillo. Chavez or Diaz would be a good fight for him, but I'm not sure if he can make lightweight anymore.

I remember that fight with Castillo. I was going for Lazcano. I totally forgot though that he had a year off. Dudes good. He will be a champ, and you can take that to the bank.

Ya it was a real good fight, aparently Lazcano was punished more that he showed during the fight. He went straight to the hospital and had to take year off to recover.Something I recommend Corrales do right now.A rematch with Castillo would be a thriller also, first fight was tough to call.

I think Freddy knows he has a good fighter in his hands. He might pay more attention to him than Goosen did.His foot speed is average but his hands are fast and IMO does have a big Ko punch. After the fight he mentioned that he was trying to put in more rounds of work.I think if he wanted to he would have finshed Burton off earlier. Why talk about fighting Chavez 135 if he knew he couldnt make 135 again,he is only fighting at 140 to get back in the mix of things.

I remember Lazcano saying that he didn't want to become a Augie Sanchez. Remember Augie Sanchez? He was from Vegas I think.

I guess that explains him taking a year off.
