i think froch has two game plans he should go into the fight with for a chance to win: he should first see if he can take advantage of his reach, and range, and somehow keep ward on the end of his jab and straight right hand. fighting off the back foot occasionally mixing it up with an uppercut or combination to the body. . . i do think he has just as good as a jab as ward. . maybe he if he's patient enough, and content with making it a "boring fight", he can get ward to walk into his punches.
however, the more likely scenario (if he has a chance to win) is what you suggested: simply make it an ugly scrap; hold and hit if you have to, maul him in close, throw him around a little bit, and just take risks by trying to be throw in greater volume, risk notwithstanding. . .Comment

I'm rooting for Froch all the way it would be awesome if he wins the Super Six. Having said that Ward has the most difficult style. Cobra should use his long reach and do everything he can to win.Comment

If Jermain Taylor wasnt a front runner, he beats Froch by 5 rounds..
Ward is a better boxer than Taylor..and smarter..
I reckon Ward will win 9-3Comment

that's what im counting on. . id rather see froch win, but im pretty sure ward will win. . i look at bika, who is an extremely awkward fighter, but not nearly as good as froch, and he was able to tag ward, and rough him up some. .Comment

taylor was putting it on froch for the first half of that fight, but froch was gradually piling the damage on while walking through fire. . .
thing is, taylor has a lot more of a punch than ward, and is more willing to get hit himself, to land punches. . . also i think froch has improved a lot since that fight; he seems to finally realize how good his jab is when he uses it. . .
im still seeing the same decision as you, though. . 117-111'ish type decision.Comment
