if he want to take a few fights before Khan I say he should....get some money out the belt....

Khan in the mean while needs to take on other kats and get at least two or three solid wins.....he should get started with a Prescott rematch....the time is NOW for this fight to go down.....after that (if he survives) he can take another ok fight then if he wins he gets a crack at the title......true story!!!
Let Peterson low ball him on the contract negotiations if he really wants the fight like he has been doing to all other opponents. Or Khan could fight himself into mandatory position.

There is still a lot of money in Khan so more than likely Peterson will do a rematch and get compesated more this time around.

Khan is in no position in calling the shots. Peterson might be able to avenge his brother loss against Rios

      ..........

"A source with knowledge of the details advised BoxingScene.com that Saturday's fight between Amir Khan (26-2, 18KOs) and Lamont Peterson (30-1-1, 15Kos) did not involve a rematch clause, and Golden Boy Promotions does not have any options on Peterson. basically, the ball is in Peterson's court. Contrary to various information being ciculated, a rematch is not remotley close to being confirmed or finalized."

If this was right after the dmitriy salita fight where Khan looked like King Kong then I'd agree, but Prescott has looked like garbage and is just BEGGING for a payday.

peterson said himself during the post fight interview that he would give khan an immediate rematch because khan gave him the opportunity for fighting for the world title, so it'd only be right to return the favor. I thought that was classy of peterson to say that.

It's funny how boxing works out sometimes. Before the Khan-Peterson fight, all calls for a Prescott-Khan rematch were virtually silenced after Breidis lost to contender Mike Alvarado last month. Fast forward a month later - Khan loses and now a rematch doesn't seem so out of the question...

think about what you're saying here ts. Khan as champ walked into the challenger's hometown and lost by split decision. A split decision that would have been a unanimous decision in his favor had it not been for the 2nd pt deduction. And he doesnt deserve a rematch???

Im not big on khan either but lets be consistent here. Before the fight there was enormous pressure on khan to take on top competition in his division. So its only fair to put pressure on peterson to prove he legitimately beat khan without any help from the home team.

                      I AGREE!

He treated McCloskey like **** after their fight and talked down to the guy and would not even consider giving him a rematch despite a controversial stoppage

SO *** A MERE CON, make him work his way back up just like everybody else or at least take another match before giving him a rematch

Con is not entitled to anything and he does not run anything in boxing besides HIS MOUTH! Peterson don't owe them NOTHING! Because if Khan would have won and Peterson wanted a rematch...IT IS NO WAY KHAN WOULD GIVE HIM ONE!
