You think James Toney can teach Pacquiao his skills?

Simple question. Pacquiao and James Toney are close buddies. James always go to Pac's fights and cheer him on and he also thurrr watchin Pac train and spar in gym. Both Toney and Pac are trained by Roach and all of em always tight. Could you imgaine James Toney teachin Pac his counter right hand while his head tucked in? MAN, if Pac gets a bit of technique from James Toney, Pac would be unstopabble!

    Opinions.

Pac's style lets him get away without having much discipline and patience. While changing styles would be good for him, because he'll have his fan base even if he becomes less exciting, I don't think he can do it effectively unless he really puts in some time trying to learn it....in short, I think he can, but I don't think Pac would want to use it.

Its possible but Pac is a brawler. I don't think he would fight defensive minded like Toney. Toney and Roach could try...

It's not as easy to learn as it looks...

It took Toney MANY MANY years to learn that...

            I agree with this.

Also perhaps teaching Pac a bit more of a defensive style, may take the edge off his style now, which is doing so well for him I think.

Basically, i would question whether Toney teaching him a new dimension would actually benefit him or just distract his mind from the style he is most comfortable and the style that is knocking people out.

you don't just teach someone your skills and for them to use it that easily...doesn't work that way...

you cannot change what is within...Toney is the fighter he is...that is WHO he is...that is his temperament

Pacman IS who he IS...a brawler who likes to come forward and throw leather...you cannot simply change that...especially this far into his experienced career

A southpaw using that would involve Pac basing it on the counter-left...the left being his money punch.

I heard Paul Malinaggi and Mike Tyson are real close...the word is that Tyson is going to teach Paulie how to throw a killer uppercut and get more power out of both hands, that is when Paulie's hands heal of course!

Cant wait, Malinaggi will be unstoppable!
