He could have jabbed Peterson to the chest, make him reset himself, instead he opted to move back every time Peterson came in aggressively. The only times Peterson was forced to reset was through Khan's illegal tactics, that's sad honestly. Khan should definitely look for a new trainer, he should start off by jabbing more, cutting his work rate by 20% at least and look to land meaningful punches. It was the same recycled stuff from Khan.

I am not going to cuss Roach. he has done a magnificent job with Pacquiao. But Roach hasn't been good for Khan at all. Khan's defense is all over the place and he seems to use speed at the expense of timing.

What has he done for Pac since Pac moved up from Jr Lightweight except match him against defenseless, slow fighters to give Manny's offense alot more emphasis? Roach said Manny improved so much but he couldn't get Pac to beat Juan Manuel Marquez in a span of 7 years with JMM moving up and being Manny's senior by 6 years. Amir Khan is a cry baby.

I couldn't agree more with Dom. Khan is lightning fast, but some of those shots looked like pitter-patter. Did you catch that? Roach seems to only have this kid (and Manny for that matter) offensively minded. With his size and range, Amir should be more versatile in there. I loved Peterson's constant pressure and body work, loved it. Those body shots seems to make Khan think twice. I liked, however, the adjustments that Peterson made though. He tested Khan's manhood, much respect for that. I have to watch it again, but it was late in the fight and Khan hurt him with a right hand I believe and he let him off the hook, you remember that? I'm thinking to myself Khan should have really jumped on him at that point.

And I agree with the bold, I had Khan winning a UD going in, but I'm happy for Peterson, he fought hard, hats off to him.

I was talking with my cousins and I said that Roach was a tad overrated. And I think it's in large due to the success that Manny has had. Does he teach his fighters defense? Amir was getting hit flush too much in that fight. And Peterson's pressure had him Jerkin for the second half of the fight. Does he teach his fighters to fight on the inside? I don't think so. They don't have to be great there, but adding that element will help when necessary.

You and Dom Soy are right on. Think back to who Freddie was. He could punch and take a punch, but parrying, blocking and head movement were not exactly his strengths.

I thought Khan won but it shouldn't have been this close. I hate to say it, but with Khans speed and length, Floyd Sr. or Manny Steward should be guiding Amir right now.

Freddy has parkinsons, manny pac and JCC Jr. to train, and his new show. He is not healthy enough to take on so many things right now.

If he's teaching Khan properly he wouldn't be letting these guys inside. He was moving his feet way too much against Petersen. He should have controlled center ring with his jab, and laid down with some power. HE would have expended far less energy if he took the center of the ring consistently.

Forget the source of this, and consider the advice objectively, he's saying both guys needed to jab more. He says that about every fighter even his own son. Pretty sure that's right. Telling a guy he needs to jab more in boxing is virtually never bad/wrong advice. He's also saying Khan can fight better than that with some adjustments and he was too "all over the place" Is he wrong? I don't think so.

Steward would be a great fit for Khan. He likes tall fighters to "fight tall" behind a consistent jab and to sit down on right hands. What Khan should actually do is do a few years with Steward and then a few with May Sr, round his game out.

I'm with you on that, I was extremely happy for Peterson, I was even rooting for Lamont. Don't know if I remember that shot specifically but I do know that the uppercut was there for Khan from the getgo, he caught and stunned Peterson a couple of times with it, but for some strange reason...he didn't think to use it again.
