That would be a good toe to toe battle. I'm not sure if Peterson has enough power to hold Rios off, but he certainly would land plenty of head snapping shots while it lasts.
it wont be a toe to toe its going to be a boxing lesson not really a fight I want to see

I don't think Peterson would try to box Rios.

If Peterson went toe to toe with Ortiz at 140, I can't see why he wouldn't do the same with Rios. Especially when Rios is coming up in weight.

he didn't go toe to toe with Ortiz man if he did he would've been put to sleep mater of fact he didn't do all that much after the KD in the fight problem was Ortiz did less

I think we have different definitions of toe to toe. I don't think Peterson ran or tried to box Ortiz.

In fact, towards the end, I remember Peterson being the agressor. If there were times they didn't go toe to toe, it was because Ortiz was pulling back.

Do you think Peterson was coming forward vs Ortiz? If so, does that constitute someone willing to go toe to toe?

he wasn't coming forward or trying to engage look at his work rate he was countering until Ortiz said **** it and decided to sit on his lead

Peterson is not a brawler like his brother Lamont doesn't usually fight like he did last night

But you can still be a counter puncher and go toe to toe...

I'm not Ortiz so I can't say the reason Peterson picked up steam towards the end was because Ortiz decided to sit on his lead. Maybe Peterson was hurting Ortiz, who knows.

But what I did see was Peterson willing to engage towards the end.

I've seen my fair share of boxers. Guys that like to stick and move. I think Peterson can box, but he can also brawl if he has too...

Peterson fought Bradley and Kayo the same way he fought Khan.

Maybe this isn't how he has always fought, but that doesn't mean he can't brawl and go toe to toe when he needs to...

I think even if Peterson tried to box Rios, Rios has the type of style to turn it into a fight. I'm not saying Peterson would definitely beat Rios, but Peterson isn't going to be running all over the ring either.

In fact, I don't recall any fighters recently "boxing" Rios for 12 rounds. Rios makes guys fight whether they want too or not. From what I've seen with Peterson, he's a been coming forward and throwing huge body shots at his opponent; not a boxer. In my eyes, this style is picture perfect for a Rios type fighter.
