why can't any of freddie roach's fighters fight on the inside

considering he's supposed to be a hall of fame trainer why can't his fighters fight on the inside?

never understood it either. chavez jr is decent at it but that may be more due to his father than even roach.

I just talked about that in another thread. He teaches them that same hi energy in and out style and maybe a overhand right but basically punches in bunches. Lots of combos. You can't do that on the inside.

Its almost like he has a formula and he works with that.

becuse the ones hes most notable for(Khan, Pacquiao) have distinct natural handspeed advantages, and those type of fighters are better suited to fighting at midrange.

Roach just doesnt primarily train infighting. its not his thing. like how Manny Stweard primarily teaches his fighters to fight at long distance and box.(they dont really have infighting either for the most part, and hes definitely HOF)

Roach certainly isnt a Futch or Arcel you know. but hes good at what he does.

Gregory Owens was Toney's trainer for most of his career and taught him everything he knows.
