I don't think it gets any easier for Khan in a rematch

Why don't you mention the gift knockdown Amir got....The ref did his job and did warn Amir numerous times...Amir has got to clean up his dirty habits, constant forearms and elbows behind the kneck and head and the pushing is Illegal was just to obvious for the ref not to call..I think that Khan was treated unfairly. I mean they had to take away two points for the fight to go to Peterson.
I think that Peteron will loose the rematch.
Also I think that Freddie Roach trains all his fighters the same way. He doesn't help them improve their own skills but he kinda conforms them. I don't like the way Khan fought last night. He looked like Pac IMO that in and out stuff is not working.Comment

Just as Peterson will come away with ideas of what to change and what to stick with, Khan can learn from the fight, too.Now that Peterson has Khan's speed timed and the blueprint on beating him. I can't see Amir winning. Khan also wasn't overwhelming or beating Peterson in the later rounds, which is a surefire way of telling how a rematch would go. A 2nd fight would either go exactly the same as last night, or be a majority win for Peterson.
Regardless, I just rewatched and Khan won that fight,
Round 01; 10-8 Khan
Round 02; 10-9 Khan
Round 03; 10-9 Peterson
Round 04; 10-9 Peterson
Round 05; 10-9 Khan
Round 06; 10-9 Khan
Round 07; 10-8 Peterson
Round 08; 10-9 Peterson
Round 09; 10-9 Khan
Round 10; 10-9 Khan
Round 11; 10-10 Even (Khan round, but I penalize him for spoiling so much and looking more panicked than a ring general should)
Round 12; 9-9 Even
Khan 114 - 112 Peterson
Not getting the decision should do him some good, though.Last edited by PEBBLES!; 12-11-2011, 03:01 PM.Comment

Stop sucking off black Americans for the sake of it, man. I sympathize with you in some instances, but you're always sucking off the black American whether it's apropos or not. And it gets ****ing old.Comment

Last night's fight was close, even without the two point deduction from Khan. I think that the OP has a point. Khan's next fight with Peterson (if it goes down immediately) could very well be just as difficult mainly because of Khan's problem with pressure fighters that fight on the inside. He has no inside game and frequently lets himself get pushed back onto the ropes. Bad, bad, bad game-plan. There were actually long moments in the fight where Khan did nothing but move around the ring and throw the occasional flurry. Peterson's pressure bothered him a good deal. I noticed that Khan did not throw his jab as frequently as he should have. If he would have worked behind his jab instead of just flurrying it might have given him a better shot at dictating distance (and getting points and hurting Peterson, as well) rather than just trying to control the pace with his feet because (as was the case last night) that doesn't always work.
In Peterson's case, he needs to develop some better head movement and use a variety of punches to work his way inside. He should also work with his jab. Jabs to the body would be excellent in getting Khan to slow down so that he can get in close and dig in. Otherwise he'll be in for another long night and another could-have-gone-either-way kind of fight. Just my take.Comment

Khan has to be the faster guy to look impressive, While his had Speed was Faster then Peterson...HIS FOOT SPEED WASN'T, so he wasn't able to get away like he usually does against Slow Footed Guys Like Maidana
also Peterson is the type of fighter that gets tougher and smarter as the fight goes, the dude has HEART and he is RELENTLESS despite all the talk about his "LACK OF POWER"
I don't give a damn how good your chin is and how fast and powerful you are, Body Shots can Slow any fighter down!
In a rematch I think Khan would have even MORE PROBLEMS beating PetersonLast edited by KnockUTheFukOut; 12-11-2011, 03:10 PM.Comment
