      I'm beginning to agree.

Roach is a very solid trainer but he doesn't emphasize technique maybe as much as he should. He molds his fighters to work on their assets which are usually speed and strength but at the expense of technique and fundamentals. He also leaves something to desire in the motivational department.

      He's no Beristain.

im begining to think the same thing

for me he isn't in the same league as Beristein or Emmanuel Stewart or even Nasim Richardson who always gives great advice in the corner

if roach's fighter isn't blowing them out of the water he doesn't know what to do

while i also commend him for still continuing to train fighters i think his health is really hampering his abilties to properly perpare his fighters

No Khan wasn't more technically sound but Linares was and Roach tried to turned him into Khan lite.

You morons fail to realise that before Khan joined Roach and his camp, Khan was getting rocked by featherweights and getting ktfo by guys like Prescott, and after joining Roach started beating some of the best fighters in his division.

Roach is not a perfect trainer. He takes raw fighters with speed and offensive potential and makes them more technically sound, and provides them with a basic, but still much more effective, defensive style to make up for their liabilities. and thats a very good fit for many fighters like Manny and Khan.

all trainers, except for guys like Futch and Arcel, have their weak points and strong points, and theres only so much they can do with a fighter who already have specific physical qualities, skill level and mentality.
