Why give Maidana a rematch?
Because Khan was the world champion going into the fight and won the fight clearly. Why should the winning champion give the losing challenger a rematch?
Lamont is a whole different story. The champion lost by a controversial decision.Comment

Bradley dominated Peterson much more clearly than Khan, if I'm not mistaken. I remember he had a few rough spots at the beginning when Peterson was digging to the body with intensity but Bradley got through it and went on to win a clear UD.
If we had Maidana/Bradley, we could at least get a better feel as to how Khan/Bradley match-up.
BTW, a Peterson/Khan rematch is more necessary than Maidana/Khan II ever was. Khan got hurt very late in the fight and actually lost that 1oth round 10-8 without a knockdown, but I think he won enough rounds and closed out the show to eek out the close, but CLEAR unanimous decision. Here, the point deductions played a major role in the fight.
I have the same opinion as Bushbaby. I was rooting for Peterson but at the same time I understood that the ref was doing a terrible job handling the fight. I could probably understand that first point deduction but the second one came out of NOWHERE and when I saw that I thought, "I think Peterson may have a serious chance of pulling off the upset."
I'm not even gonna' look at the intangibles and whatnot. The rematch will be made. Khan will be looking to punish Peterson badly. He will dominate Peterson en route to 9-3 UD in the rematch.Last edited by TintaBoricua; 12-11-2011, 02:07 PM.Comment

It also shows Bradley has underated power. After last night, I think Bradley and Khan have just about the same power. Berto and Ortiz a tier above them.Comment
