Segura is a tough man, showing it, even in defeat... Good performance by Viloria...

Viloria fought a good fight... He could barely miss his counter left hook against Segura (similar to Pacquiao's counter right hook against Hatton) and it landed over the course of the fight to produce that Rahman, Vargas, Lara-esque knot. Viloria's body work and strength also helped him get the outcome. Plodding, pressure fighters without strength and stamina advantages are without 2 of their essential necessities to win.

Regardless of what others believe, Segura had the right attributes and gameplan to get the results he did against, even a prime, Calderon. Other Calderon opponents felt it necessary to waste hundreds of punches by constantly going for head shots over and over and missing, while Segura focused almost exclusively on the body, eventually took Calderon's legs (essential to Calderon's game), and overwhelmed him on the inside. If Cazares implemented a similar gameplan, they might've gotten similar resuts.

If Viloria keeps preparing his strategies similar to what he did here, he can have a great run. Strategy can change outcomes.

Lol how are filipinos essentially Mexicans cousins? Filipinos received Spanish Surnames but thats about it. Mexicans are mixed with Indigenous, European while Filipinos are mainly indigenous, asian. Only thing they really share is religion and relations to spain but Mexico has more mestizos Filipinos didnt breed with Spaniards on a high scale.

Well wasn't indigenous mexico, and indigenous philippines both conquered by the spaniards? While they basically just mixed in the the indigenous mexicans over time (and longer ago), they also left a lot of blood behind in the philippines. . . so it's like indigenous mexicans (aztecs, etc.) + spaniards = contemporary mexicans; and indigenous filipinos + spaniards = contemporary filipinos!

Plenty of filipinos look more like what would be considered "hispanic" than what is considered "asian". .

Cotto took a knee after being pummeled & turned into a swollen mess by "Plaster Covered Inserts" & in the rematch it was a TOTAL different fight where Margacheato was the 1 getting pummeled & ended with the swollen face & a TKO loss(second stoppage loss since he was caught with loaded wraps)..Now in Calderón's case, it was LACK OF HEART that made him take a knee TWICE!!! Calderón himself admitted that he could have continued after he took a knee, but just decided not to!!

You are correct but Mexico is more mixed and very Spanish. It´s the best place for bullfights after Spain. We also celebrate October 12 and everything has a Spanish influence combined with indigenous culture. We are also part of Latin America and mostly consider filipinos related to things Asian. But yes, some Filipinos look a bit Hispanic and are brave fighters even though you were also colnized by the USA.

Mexico had great real warriors, but their latest "warriors" are very questionable...they look great fighting guys 1 or 2 division(s) lighter but sucks fighting at their weights...no skills!!! ala Segura, Cheato and Rios!!!

most filipinos [90%+] are pretty much 100% malay - like pac and viloria. donaire looks like he could be part something else though.

only a small portion [likely less than 5%] actually has any spanish blood, and an even lower portion actually speaks spanish.
