WASHINGTON — Hometown favorite Lamont Peterson won split-decision over champion Amir Khan to capture the WBA and IBF junior welterweight titles Saturday night. Peterson's win was helped by referee Joe Cooper, who took two points away from Khan for pushing in the seventh and 12th rounds. Peterson received scores of 113-112 on two cards. The other had Khan winning 115-110. Peterson improved to 30-1-1. Khan is 26-2.

lol@ the 117-110 scorecard we would've seen without the deductions.

    Horrible scorecard.

      Effectiveness over Abundance

Were are the pics of Petersons powers punches landed throughout the fight. Ya'll are displaying pics to display a false one sidedness. Lamont was more effective point blank.

Good pics, but what's with every boxingscene photo-set having at least one crazy-mirror shot in the pack these days (the bottom one in this case)?

Now what was that comment David Haye said about Khan? "Khan is the only one who can beat Floyd, not Pacquiao." Yeah right. Khan got what he deserved turning his back on his friend Pac and then back-pedaling just like his fight with Peterson. Great strategy for Peterson. I loved how Peterson cut off the ring with wide hooks to the body, plus his smart aggression.

I felt bad for Khan, but he'll get his 3rd chance. Let this be a lesson to ya'll. Don't talk before you fight, and stay humble. Khan thought he was at the level of Pac & Floyd. Khan does have great speed, which was effective. But what good is speed without the sting to back up the opponent. He should've used more uppercut so he won't be complaining as much about Peterson sticking his head in. That's why I believe there is only one Manny Pacquiao. Speed + Power. Floyd is just like Khan, all speed but no power. Still Floyd is a genius and I believe Floyd & Pac are tied up their with being lb-4-lb

But then again, Floyd & Khan are basically the same when it comes to speed & power, so in a way Khan can still outpoint Floyd.

          CONG**** PETERSON!!

haha, nice selection of pics to post up. i hate how fighters sometimes have their gloves wrapped up so much like khan's. look at the difference between his and peterson's. anyways, good fight by both guys, i thought khan won a close fight but the point deduction made the difference. looking forward to the rematch.
