Comments Thread For: Seth Mitchell Demolishes Timur Ibragimov in Two Rounds

Convention Center, Washington, District of Colombia - Heavyweight Seth Mitchell (24-0-1, 18KOs) picks up the biggest win of his career with a two round stoppage of Timur Ibragimov (30-4-1, 16KOs). Mitchell came out being aggressive, but Ibragimov soon brought him down to earth by slowing down the pace. Mitchell was showing Ibragimov some respect early on. Mitchell let his hands go in the second and hurt Ibragimov with a hard left hand and soon followed it up with three accurate right hands. Mitchell continued to land accurate punches with both hands to force the stoppage.

"Demolishes" is not the correct word, the stoppage was a tad bit early and Timur still had his senses, not to mention the round was coming to a close.

maybe he would lose to the klits, but an early stoppage?...really? Ibragimov was doing absolutely NOTHING but eating shot after shot and his eyes were gone. Maybe Mitchell wont be a champion, but don't hate on his performance. He was the only person to hurt Ibragimov much less knock him out.

the correct decision. Mitchell was landing the right at will, could have caused serious damage if the fight was allowed to continue.

However, that was a solid performance from Mitch, easily the brightest American prospect.

it's true that Timur was not really out on his feet just hurt and a bit dazed but he DID take a lot of unanswered shots however it must be noted that Timur has never been knocked down before in his entire career so the ref perhaps should have given him the benefit of the doubt considering as you said the round may have been close to the end and Mitchell was not particularly dominating the fight i.e. I thought Timur was doing well in round 1.
But either way who cares Chris Arreola, Klitschkos etc anyone would kill Mitchell easily
