Roy looked pretty good last night, nothing spectacular happen but you can tell he wanted to get some rounds in. He didn’t go to ropes that much at all and he let his hands go pretty often. Similar to how he attacked Lacy in spots especially with his inside game with them sneaky body shots and fast uppercuts. His defense definitely looked tighter he got a little shoulder roll and a nice arm block going on now so it was a right move to get Tommy Yankello as his trainer. Roy’s physical shape looked way better then it was then his last fight in Russia vs Lebedev. I think that fight he weighed in at 198 ½ he looked flabby and sick. This fight he weighed in the same as his HW fight vs Ruiz just not as muscular.

The production of the fight was a joke, they need to seriously get some real time fight directors to help out. Because all the technical difficulties such as having no replays and being on unorganized will definitely turn some people off. If you logged on the ustream.tv/royjones they now have the fight posted on there for free.

Im happy roy won and you could see him and his trainer had made some adjustements to more orthodox boxing. You could also see he clearly had nothing left, he is considerably slower then even 2-3 years ago. He couln't pull of the lead left hook or straight right lead except slowly to the body a few times. His counters also was way off on timing. Im a bit sad he didn't do these changes five years ago. I think it could have kept him competetive a little bit longer.
