Yeah, it goes from journeymen level to top championship level without anyone really in between to bridge the gap. That's the biggest problem with this era. There are two brilliant top heavyweight champions and then nothing in between. Haye was a good in between fighter but he lost his one big fight and then retired.
Mitchell might end up a decent fighter but he won't beat either of the Klitschko bros at all, unless he fights them when they're ancient. That goes for all the rest too. There just aren't any good contenders that could become great champs. Mitchell is now a top ten HW contender and to me, in reality, he looks like an old, crappy club fighting gym guy, not a top world rated HW prospect. It is what it is though and maybe he can do something today.

dude's arms were at his hips until mitchell threw....he was looking for a "silent contract" like teddy talks about 250 seconds into the fight. but seth figured him outIt was maybe a tiny bit early but Ibragamov wasn't punching back at all and wasn't defending any of the shots and just had his head down. He didn't block a single punch Mitchell threw so I can understand the stoppage and it was ok to me. It's possible that he could have come back but he was wobbling for a fair bit of that round and shipping big punches throughout without defending against any of them well. I think Mitchell would probably have gotten the stoppage either way from that round as it wasn't just one lucky shot. He was landing over and over too cleanly.
BTW there goes your theory though of chick refs stopping it too early. Guys do it too.
