From what I read on the PR papers Pedro diaz says that is the style Cotto will use from now on "the hit and not get hit" style by going back to his roots of amateur boxing, learning new defensive techniques and learning to clinch to save his stamina, Cotto is doing the right thing for the sake of his career. He is turning in to a defensive pot shot fighter who fights behind an amazing jab and if he keeps working on the right hand he will keep improving and for a guy who is 31 years old that says a lot.

He didn't handle the speed first time because he tried to trade in close. Cotto thought he would be able to over-power Manny and that was his downfall.

He has a great jab, he has good boxing skills, he has great timing to counter...he has all the tools to win the fight, he simply used the wrong game-plan first time not to mention he was being 'trained' by Santiago and had horrible footwork, both things have been improved drastically.

I think he should take Margarito for a 3rd and final fight, leaving the controversy out of it, there still 1-1.

Been calling for Miguel to go "Full Boxer" for a while now, he cant keep going to war the way he has been and up in weight the punches are harder too.

The guy has excellent boxing skills, he has showed it throughout his career but he "boxed" more as an amatuer and early on in his career than during his title reigns. His right hand looked about as good as ive seen it in the Margarito rematch, i really hope he keeps working on that and uses it more often. Im feeling Pedro Diaz and i think Cotto with this new trainer, the weight of the Margarito surrender off of his shoulders, his confidence fully restored and with the strategy switch to boxer from pressure fighter Has resurrected his career - he can still do great things in boxing!
