On Friday, Amir Khan weighed in under the 140-pound limit ahead of his 'Capital Showdown' with Lamont Peterson, which takes place later tonight in Washington, DC. The WBA and IBF light-welterweight champion, cheered on by the raucous 'Khan Army', smiled to the crowd as he stepped on the scales at the Carnegie Library building. He had every reason to be cheerful too, as he was confirmed at one pound under the limit. Challenger Peterson then came in at the division limit of 140.

I believe Amir Khan has the tools to win this fight but Peterson is durable as hell and while i see khan dominating with speed and movement early on its going to be interesting to see what happens when we get to around 7 upwards will amir start to tire .... will lamont find his chin when he slows down this could be a barnstormer !!!

Khans speed will pose the biggest danger to Peterson IMO

I think if khan gets caught with some of the monsters that Maidana caught him with, he could be in trouble.

The thing is, Peterson doesn't have the same knockout power as Maidana.

Khan might have a few tricky moments but I think he will end up stopping Peterson at some point.

Sure there pal, I'm sure you will make tons of fans by beating the hometown guy in front of HIS fans. You will be lucky to make it out of the arena without catching a bottle to the head.

I think Khan is underestimating Peterson and will struggle in this fight after looking good in rounds 1-3. I say he starts to fade and Peterson's performance raises questions about Khan just as JMM's performance raised questions about Pac.

amir does everything peterson does, but better. . . peterson isn't very fast. . . . nor powerful. . . he's just your "all around good" boxer-puncher. . . i say boxer-puncher, despite not having much of a punch, because his style is not that of a pure boxer; he is stuck in the middle, and doesn't really have the physical abilities as I mentioned like speed and power to compliment his LEARNED skills. . . He is what I consider a "B+" fighter.

Khan has not chin. He got melted in one round (by B. Prescott) and was staggered badly in other fights. Peterson catches him early and ends it in the 7th by TKO.

I rarely agree with anything you state, but I feel AMIR will be beaten.... Not badly but that Peterson will get the nod, especially if peterson can get amir to **** on the inside... Khan cant **** like peterson can...
