Later this evening at Ballsaal Interconti-Hotel in Dusseldorf, Gennady Golovkin (21-0, 18KO) puts his alphabet middleweight title at stake against American challenger LaJuan Simon (23-3-2, 12KO).
The entire undercard was bumped up a day after its original headliner fell through. Lineal heavyweight Wladimir Klitschko was to top the bill in a title defense against former cruiserweight king Jean-Marc Mormeck, but was forced to withdraw after succumbing to a battle with kidney stones late last week.
Klitschko will still be on hand for the show, as the hulking Ukrainian is to be presented with an award prior to the makeshift main event
