Comments Thread For: NBC Sports Fight Series Puts Duva Back On Front Line

She fought and scratched and clawed while watching others settle for TV dates without ever providing a product relevant to its viewing audience.

Now, Kathy Duva gets a chance to show ‘em how it’s done.

Last month’s announcement of a new fight series inked between Duva’s Main Events and NBC Sports is met with Thursday’s big reveal of its first main event. A pair of heavyweight contenders will square off in the inaugural episode of “NBC Sports Fight Night” on January 21 when Sergei Liakhovich faced Eddie Chambers at the Asylum Arena in Philadelphia. I'm excited for this. Building up fighters in their home regions is an excellent way of attracting a fan base and creating buzz. Look at Fernando Guerrero.

If they can offer us competitive matchups while doing this then so much the better.

    I hope Duva succeeds.

I agree with you man. Boxing needs to invest in the future fans. MMA is got the youth and boxing is still around due to the 25+ crowd. Good on Duva. I dream of the day boxing is back on primetime tv every week.

Not true Boxing is really around because of Hispanics. Hispanics are about to be 25% of the US population come 2040 that is why I think you are going to see Soccer and Boxing become major sports in America. Watch this video good indication.

Duva talks a damn good game. The level somewhere between HBO and "top fighters facing journeymen" reminds me of watching USA's Tuesday Night Fights as a kid. If Duva and her matchmaker do it right, this could be really good.

Lou is not her dad. He's her former father-in-law.
