Here's a good audio interview of Roy saying why he continue even after to get knock outs.

How in the world did we get here, Roy? You witnessed your good buddy GMan's tragedy in the mid 90's and vowed to know when to step away before this big boy business eats you alive and pisses on your quality of life from age 55 plus. But yet we're here at another bull**** fight and opponent (insert that Prince Bidu guy here) to bull**** fans, promoters, networks et al into thinking you've found the fountain of youth. When your athleticism and skills are shot and you have no orthodox and technical foundation to fall back on, then why are you continuing on? You have no more game changing power like the leaping left hook that rocked Toney or the one that sent Montel staring at the lights or even the kidney shot to Virgil. But what you do have is a stationary head not only on D but also on offense which is a double whammy, you square up way too much especially going back to the ropes in a straight line, your Winky peek-a-boo is poor and lazy b/c at least Wink or even a Clottey would work jabs out of it, your legs can't get you passed 4 rounds, you only have fighting weight of maybe 180 pounds (the rest is blown up water retention) so in effect you're giving up 20 pounds to a cruiser on the scale without mentioning their natural rehydration at the bell, and the list goes on. Please retire after this last farce...please...I'm begging you.
