Lucas Browne believes his failed drugs test was down to eating a steak in Russia and is planning to take a polygraph test in a bid to prove his innocence. He said,

Reading between the lines he's saying 'why would I be taking diet supplement when I was eating a steak'.

I don't believe Browne, honestly I would love for him to be innocent I just don't believe he is though.

The longer this farce goes on Oquendo is still awaiting his opportunity to fight Bronwe or Ortiz, all this does is prolong the eventual mandating of Ortiz versus Klitschko or Fury, the division and fans suffer as a consequence with all this new added delays, the WBA should intervene here and knock this Ustinov fight on the head and go right ahead with Oquendo and Ortiz, stripping Browne in the process if he clears his name give him an immediate shot at the victor.

Politics, isn't it... all politics. I reckon it's pretty humorous that the Russians spiked his steak. They didn't bust Brian Minto, but he lost easily though. Maybe he put som sauce on his steak and it drowned the clenbuterol.

Hatton Promotions wishes to confirm that on 15 April 2016 Lucas Browne undertook an independent polygraph test. This is a test often referred to and commonly known as a "lie detector" test.

We confirm that Lucas unequivocally passed the test. He did not knowingly or intentionally place banned substances including the drug clenbuterol into his system ahead of his world title victory against Ruslan Chagaev.

Lucas stated: "I am pleased that the polygraph test confirmed that I am telling the truth. The result is not a surprise to me as I have always said I am a clean athlete, I know I arrived in Grozny a clean athlete and I know I did nothing wrong when I was there.

“It should never be forgotten that I requested the VADA testing for the fight. Whilst the result is not a surprise to me, I consider this test another step towards proving my innocence.

“I remain grateful for the ongoing support of the public, my manager and my promoter. Together we are fighting this injustice”.

The result of the polygraph test also came as no surprise to four-time world champion Ricky Hatton, who has served as Browne’s promoter for the past four years.

“I have been saying since it happened I am 100 per cent behind Lucas,” Hatton said. “The whole thing just doesn't stack up. The results of the lie detector test don’t surprise me at all. Lucas knows he didn't do it, I know he didn't do it and now we have a test conducted by experts that confirms he is telling the truth.

“We will keep going and do all that we can do to prove his innocence. Matters are in the hands of the lawyers and the WBA. I and the whole of boxing hope they do the right thing by Lucas. Boxing needs that to happen to maintain its credibility. The public is behind Lucas because they know the truth as well.”

Lie detector tests are utter garbage though. They only exist to catch out imbeciles who were too ******ed to bring a lawyer. Then the police use it as a tool to put pressure on the subject to admit to his crime, usually without even taking the 'test'. It's for good reason that these are inadmissible in court.

Also, this was just 'confirmed by Hatton Promotions' ... fair enough, but will it clear Browne of said accusations and avoid him being stripped of his title?

If the 2008 Olympics taught Deontay Wilder anything, it’s that he should have paid more attention in class. “Every time I’m fixing to go to a different place, even if it’s just a vacation, I kick myself in the butt because you had an option to learn a different language in high school,” the WBC heavyweight champion said with a smile. “We take advantage of that because we never think we’ll need it or use it. I wish they had a pill or a surgery where they put it in your brain.” The Olympics, where Wilder earned a bronze medal, also gave the fighter a chance to check out where he will defend his title on May 21st. “Being the heavyweight champion of the world means traveling all over the world, and going to russia makes it even bigger for me to put my title on the line in someone else’s backyard,” Wilder said of his upcoming bout with Russian Alexander Povetkin. The 30 year-old heavy hitter has embraced his role as the 2016 version of Rocky Balboa heading across the world to take on today’s Ivan Drago. “They automatically assume he’s going to be the best, he’s going to be the toughest,” Wilder mockingly said of the public’s view of Russian fighters. “Or, ‘Now this is finally a test for Deontay Wilder!'”

Wilder has been heavyweight champion for only about fifteen months, but he’s already put his title on the line three times. “Since I’ve built this tradition of fighting so often, I’ve seen other heavyweights try to do the same…which I think is a great thing,” he observed. His next opponent reminds him more of Stiverne; however, a key difference he sees is that Povetkin does not move his head. “if I land and hit you correctly, you may take one or two but you are not going to take too many,” Wilder emphatically stated. “And, by a guy not moving his head I have an easy target right there.”

Wilder is preparing for the fight, but he’s also taking extra measures to make up for his missed opportunities in school. “I’ve got friends that speak [Russian], so maybe I’ll pick up a word or two,” he smiled. “The way their syllables are set-up, it doesn’t work with my brain and the way I speak it.” There is one phrase Wilder loves to say and is ready to do anything necessary to repeat it after the Povetkin fight. “If it takes going to Russia, knocking a guy out in Russia, then coming back and saying, ‘And still,’ then we’re going to do that.” Not even the daunting task of taking on the 30-1 Russian in Moscow gives Wilder reason to pause. “Anybody knows I’ve got that power that can get rid of any guy at any given time of the fight,” Wilder boasted. “Once you know you’ve got that power behind you, you’re not worried about nothing.”
