If you want to see a robbery, see Akinwande's gift decision against Herbie Hide in the final of the 89 ABA's.

Akinwande had height, reach, and half-way decent power

he lacked killer instinct, and seemed to be unwilling to trade shots with guys who could fight back (lewis, mccall)

he had the outer-workings of a champ, and the inner-workings of...let's say, Golota

I dont know how true it is but i've heard a lot of fighters say he's a huge puncher.

Was Herbie Hide ever any good or not really?

Hide had quick hands for a HW, but not much of a chin.

Rid**** Bowe claims that Hide is the hardest puncher he ever faced

(probably because he just wants 2 forget the Golota beat-downs though)

                    Herbie's Nickname

I would've paid anything for his nickname to have been Herbie "The Love Bug" Hide. Silly, I know, but it still would've been loads better than what boxrec has listed: "Dancing Destroyer."

I'm suddenly imagining a heavyweight dance off between Evander Holyfield and Herbie Hide, with the singing provided by Roberto Duran and Larry Holmes.

I'm suddenly realizing that sleep deprivation isn't the healthiest thing out there.
