margarito has been knocked down early in his career so he has actually been down!!!

also mosley knocked him down before he knocked him out!

daniel santos rocked margarito and made his legs dance a little and pacman had margarito hurt several times

yes the man has a great chin but dont make out he his like lamota or chuvalo they had serious serious chins!!!

i like cotto and i think he is too skilled for chavez jr who will have a sizable weight advantage but i dont rate jr that much i think he is fringe world class so i could see miguel winning a decision!

Chavez Jr will retire Cotto. I don't rate Jr. all that high either but the advantages are way too much especially with Jr's firepower. 160 is way too much for a Cotto that is pudgy and slow at 152. Maybe it is a blessing in disguise that Cotto beat Margarito because neither of them would do too good but Margarito's stronger, weaker defense, means he takes more damage.

shockingly enough, I would favor Jr in this fight, if it were to happen at 160. The guy is just too big now, and that + his style + the fact he actually has been improving might be too much for a shopworn Cotto.

Hopefully this fight will happen. This kid might be big but just doesn't have the skills to beat Cotto.

I think 160 is too much of a jump. He looks chubby at LMW let alone MW

What 4th title? I thought it was fight Sergio or get stripped by the WBC, at least thats what Sergio's team claims. Anyways, JC Jr seems to be on the up and up but Cotto is not Zbik or Manfredo Jr. He actually has skills and a decent punch and I could easily see Miguel teaching JC Jr a boxing lesson. Hell, if the Molina and Vanda fights were not in Mexico JC Jr probably has a few losses on his record. JC Jr does look improved but to say he would dominate any fighter within the 154-168 range is a bit much at this point.

All in All, I see this as a good fight. Cotto is looking for big money and this one would defnitely bring in some $$ in vegas or NYC..make it happen. Besides Chavez Jr. needs to man up and fight someone that isn't a C grade fighter. Sink or swim at this point, or keep on doing PPV exhibition fights like "butterbean".

i think this is a good fight. the size difference in favor of jr is a factor. jr appears to be improving with each fight. for jr if we wins he has beaten a proven fighter, although cotto is not a true middleweight. for cotto it means 4 divisions and beating a younger, bigger, up and comer. i think cotto outboxes jr and wins. i dont see it playing out where it goes the distance and jr wins, just by it going the distance i would guess cotto was able to take his shots, it appears most of those who are picking jr would agree with this because they are anticipating jr wins by ko, not decision. if cotto can take his shots, he then is clearly the better boxer, imo, and goes on to win. i wont say it would be a landslide decision, i would guess a contested bout, but a win for cotto. cotto may even go down, as he has in previous bouts, but has shown ability to recover and win, exception marg 1 and pac, his two only losses.

Agreed! Cotto wont be effective @160. He has reached his limit @154 for his frame.
