Its always been a part of the sport and always will be as long as they are big money names there will be promoters who protect them against high risk low reward fights.

Ducking has happened forever, and for a number of reasons. I'm not even sure that ducking is just now becoming acceptable. Fans just didn't have message boards to post on when Norton and Frazier never fought, or Robinson admitted to ducking Burley.

If people used the term more selectively it might mean something but as it is now the word is meaningless~
