you can't directly compare. first one was at ww with 8oz. gloves.
second one at jmw with 10oz.
considering all the circumstances i'd say margarito pulled off a better win.

Of course Marg had the better win, with the help of doctored wraps, in my opinion. He stopped Cotto, the doc stopped Marg.

the plaster theory is somewhat shaky. cotto took quite a beatdown in the rematch as well just not as much. but consider they fought the first fight with 8oz. cletos (also called puncher's or knockout gloves) and the 2nd with the softer 10oz. everlasts.
