Is Rahman the biggest loser..out of the whole situation.

Rahman is now 2.5 million in debt, has a contract with Don King until 2010, and lost out on a huge 4.6 million dollar pay day by fighting Vitali. Now he is the wbc champ, and the big news is that no one cares. If you recognize Rahman as the true champ of the division, you are crazy. At this point Brewster is the front runner. Some of you might say Toney is, but lets be realistic, the first real punch that Brewster lands on him, Toney is going to be flying out of the ring like when Rahman was knocked out by another major player in the heavyweight division Maskaev. Now you might think that this is a joke, but Maskaev is fighting Sam for the WBC #1 spot. If he wins we will most likely see Rahman vs Maskaev II, this will just be too easy for Don King to market, playing the brutal knockout over and over again in commercials.

You can say that HBO lost a ton. They lost something around 4 million in Williams vs Vitali. However, I think they would have lost a ton more in this fight as well. They also lost a ton of money promoting the fight, since Vitali withdrew just about a week before the fight. The venue people are definetly not happy because they lost a day. Bob Arum is not happy because he finally tried to take a hit at Don King by promoting the fight, and ended up not having the fight happen. So who is the biggest loser out of the whole situation?

It's arguable, I can't name another fighter other than Vitali who would give him the same payday.

I had to vote the fans, because so many people wanted to see them go at it. Now there will always be "Vitalis this an that for retiring" and Rahman got a belt handed to him.
So in other words it would have stopped a lot of arguments here. Guess we'll never know.

Anyone care to tell me how Vitali loses anything in this situation? He is still a multi-millionair, highly respected in Germany and the Ukraine, while Rahman is broke, and has no fans.
