I don't find that strange at all. Look at how fast Trinidad stopped Mayorga, 8 rounds and an actual stoppage. Cotto took 12 rounds to stop a past prime and shot Mayorga. That's what it took a past prime Mosley to do that.

People want to act like the fighters from now are so much more superior with their nutrition and training, but you don't even have to go that far back to find fighters who are better than the modern fighters. Imagine the fighters of back then who were in 15 round fights and used gloves with less padding. Most of these fighters from 2000+ would get schooled/destroyed by fighters from the 90s and down.

lol Pacquiao has no inside game whatsoever. Nor does he have ring generalship or defense. He can swarm statues and punching bags, but a true technician like JCC would eat him alive. Unlike JMM, JCC goes for the kill, backs Pacquiao up(he cant fight going back) and whoops his ass on the inside all night long. JCC was no slouch on the defense like Margo and Cotto, he would outbox pacquiao and give him a beat down without taking a step back.

        Sorry *******.

As for the TS, Whitaker by murder. Pac has never faced any good southpaws and Whitaker was one of the most talented in history. Seriously, this fight turns out uglier that Pac and May could.

Prime for Prime Its a good fight but i think pernells defense gives pac fits and wins him a decision. Prime Pac vs the older pernell who lost to tito and Oscar struggling with ******* addiction manny could get a decision.

The Pernell Whitaker of about 1990 beats the current Pacquiao by whatever score he wants to. Pacquiao just can't get to a prime Whitaker.

The Pacquiao of 2009 may be able to walk Whitaker down after a lot of rounds, but he'd have to learn the cut off the ring better.

If they're both at 140lb, so it's the Whitaker of the early '90s, Whitaker wins a wide-ish UD. Pacquiao might busy himself enough to win a few rounds.

Wait people are actually arguing this, oh man. Look Manny's hook will be totally ineffective because Pernel will circle the correct way and Manny doesn't have a jab to pin down Whitiker to really land his straight left at least in volume and there is little evidence to suggest he could take him out with a single blow.

Pea on the other hand will catch Manny whenever he pleases because Manny will get out maneuvered, and while Pea might not be a huge puncher he certainly could get peoples respect especially if he sat down on his shots which he frequently mixed in.

Manny might win on some bullshit volume that pretty much any real boxing fan would not accept because all the best punches will come from Pea. Pea every time based on clean effective punching, I can't even really fathom how Manny would get at Pea fighting as he does.

Pernell Whitaker in his prime takes Manny to school like he took Chavez to school. He'd wake him up early in the morning, make him breakfast, and put him on the yellow bus kinda ass whippin'. Manny's a great action fighter that throws lots of wild punches from "odd angles" but Whitaker was an artist that dissected his opponents patiently over the course of twelve rounds.

                Whitaker by UD.

Lol why is this even a Question ? Whittaker Hands down, The One Dimensional Protected Hypejob would be taken From Preschool to Graduating High School with Honors. *******s Gtfo saying Pacquiao would Destroy Whittaker. Pacquiao has always been protected by Arum and he would get schooled any day of the week. Even with the Catchweight

That's my take. I really don't even see how it would be close.
