I have been hounding Bill for the longest time for us to get together and tell his story. I kept on him about all of the memories and fighters that he has encountered through his 70+ years in the sport.
Finally, yesterday while we were working in the gym I say to him, "Bill, lets do your story man, I think that the people out there would love to hear it...." Bill turns to me and says " Thats a good idea, lets get started...." So Bill and I chatted for a little while just to get a feel of what angle we will come with for the book. We will be talking in the gym and will be meeting in the near future to get further into detail.
I gotta tell you guys that this guy has been around the game for a long, long time. He has been everywhere in his time that I read about in the books and reports from the past. He has trained champions from the first day that they walk through the gym doors as kids and has worked with some of the legendary figures in the game. Bills story will most definately be one to read and if you are in the game, one to learn from.
I am so happy that Bill has agreed to this. I will do his life long journey through boxing justice with the words that I am to write about him. Bill is a great trainer, but more than that Bill is a great man.
