I didnt order that ppv but judging by that pic either rios is the new mike tyson or he used something very illegal. Both of his orbital bones are broken and thats not something that happens often in boxing.Comment

He was extremely slow and sluggish, you could tell he struggled with the weight just in his performance alone and yet this is the result.
He couldn't get enough into his shots to actually knock murrary around or out, so instead he just outworked him, and you see what happened above. It was a damn good fight though, Murray had some real good spots. But DAMN, that looks bad.Comment

Alvarado is a big question mark for me right now. I think if anything, the question lies more on Alvardo than Rios. I felt like Acosta was a big enough test for bam bam and he trucked his way to a HARD fought victory. I'm not sure what Alvarados intangibles are, and if he is capable of withstanding the type of pace bam bam will make him fight at. Guys like Bam Bam, Kirkland, etc, they take you to places you probably have never been before. That's what makes them so effective.. problem is, they lose as soon as the person is OK with the pace usually.
Alvarado is a nice fighter the same as Antillion and Murray. We have seen this before. Bob will continue to do this shyt and by the time Rios actually gets the big fights he'll be worn outComment

Also its not that hard to **** someone up really even for just an average person in a street fight that doesn't go that long and yes while they are wearing gloves these are strong athletes who know how to punch with proper technique and they were fighting for what a half hour in an all action brawl?Comment

That's what bugs me the most. Right now I'm disappointed with the fact that Rios is asking for Marquez/Maidana ( the maidana fight is a must, why not give the fans this? neither guy would decline IMO) and he shuns it off as if it isn't an exciting fight. I think Arums old age is catching up to him. I'm not sure what direction he is trying to take Rios in.. but if he wants something "big" of him, he'd better cash out on him now. Because his style won't allow him to go head to head too much more, especially when he's failing to make weight.Comment

comparison is crazy. no way rios would even be able to slip tainted wraps or gloves that night, cmon mathed.
gotta respect murray's courage. can't wait to see a bigger, hopefully stronger rios at 140. like thephantom5 said, bring on alvarado.Last edited by chiguy91; 12-05-2011, 08:59 PM.Comment

He only had some issues with Presscot becuase of the big hieght and reach advantage to go with a sick right hand.
Alvarado still walked through it and looked very energetic in the final three rounds.
If Alvarado fights Rios he's now the bigger fighter.
Who backs up who?
Alvarado has shown he can box a little to get inside.Comment

i would be all over brandons wraps.............for right now rios is just a heavy handed fighter. but trainers must guard themselves better against illegal wraps........i can't understand why ****m is the only one thats able to spot illegal wraps almost instantly.Comment
