IF margarito used his jab alot more.

I witnessed Margarito have some success using his jab on Cotto but never threw it consistently. He has a long reach and was keeping Cotto at bay when using it. I think he would have had made the fight more challenging if he used the jab more effectively. anyone else notice that?

He threw a million jabs. His jab just isn't accurate so it didn't have all that much effect. He also couldn't cut the ring off so he was jabbing a lateral moving target. But he never stopped throwing it.

Actually he used it a lot and it was something that Robert Garcia worked on a lot in his preparation for this fight.

Call me crazy but I saw a lot of improvements from Marg. He moved well laterally, used the jab but the problem was and is, he is slower than he once was.

He's always been slow but not it's like he is punching underwater.

He can't connect on the shots that he once used to connect on. He can get there with his feet but he can't land enough.

Marg is done man, sorry to all the Marg fans and I loved watching the guy but he is finished as an elite fighter on big PPV cards.

To me It seems there's a conflict going on in margarito. he is learning but then he drops it all of a sudden and goes head 1st toward his opponent looking for massive shots. with all due respect, It's very hard to teach an old dog new tricks. His jab may have inconsistent but Cotto didn't receive all those bruises on his face out of nowhere.

Well you said he wasn't throwing it consistently but he was. What do you mean by he was inconsistent with it? Do you mean he wasn't landing it consistently? Well no ****, Cotto was blocking and evading shots, not to mention Marg is a terrible boxer. I'm sure Marg would have loved to land more jabs but he can't just magically change his jab to become more accurate.

Ive said it many times that Margarito is easier to time and attack when tries to jab and box. That jab made it easier for Pac to time him and unload combinations before Margarito could even reset it. Cotto was picking those jabs off and Marg couldnt set anything up behind it either.. Easy work.
