His record is good and gave some pretty exciting fights, but his career was nothing spectacular.

I dont think he will be remembered for his boxing career. I think he'll be remembered for pulling out against Byrd and then pulling out against Rahman four times. He didnt really beat anyone that good during his career, and his world title career (WBC anyway) consisted of Corrie Sanders and Danny Williams. Hardly Foreman and Frazier are they?

He's not going to the hall of fame, but he should be happy...
He faced the safest opponents in his career, made a little money, and didn't endure too much punishment (aside from the Lewis fight...DAMN!)

i'd remember him as the most dominant champ of his time outside of lennox lewis.

his retiring, as he says, could be a product of "his body is betraying him."

i wish him the best. if we're lucky enough, we might see him back in the ring when he is healed and the motivation gets to be too much.

Thats tough to say when he only made one defense.

                  hmm

He'll be remembered for his awkward style and ability to brutalize people, and mainly for his fight with Lennox Lewis. But, he'll also be remembered for injuries and what could have been since he chose to retire instead of wasting everyone's time and waiting half a year to fight again.

Good for Vitali. He knows his body and he made the right decision.

derrenged, he's had belts before getting that wbc belt.

it sucks his body let him down like that, he had a hell of a lot of potential still left in him.
