Their record is 1-1 against each other. Each Owning a stoppage over the other. Thats the official record. Usually when this happens their is a rubber match. That's Boxing. Just cause you think you proved something or disprove something doesn't make you exempt or give you special "I refuse to make the fight" Privileges. No matter what you think this is the official record 1-1. I say bring on the Trilogy whats the worse that can happen someone takes a loos and a forever bruised pride and in Margarito case probably loose a eye ( who cares, its his eye and if he wants to risk it let him ). Plus they can both add a couple more millions in their banks, Who else will they fight either one will get smashed by any of the top 154lbers, and in my honest opinion any of the top 147lbers. Finish off their Career with a Official Period to their rivalry in a Trilogy showdown.

It doesn't matter where its at. Just keep it the hell out of New York. They weren't looking out for Margarito's eye. They were looking out for Cotto's health. You Cotto fans are happy about what? Oh right Cotto survived! lol If you're so sure Cotto can beat Margarito again take a third fight anywhere just like Margarito did. In Vegas, LA, Dallas, it doesn't matter. Cotto won't accept because he knows they won't look out for him like the NY commission did and no one out of NY likes Cotto. He claims Margarito used plaster hand wraps in their first fight, yet he didn't stand and trade with Margarito. Instead, Cotto ran like a coward from Margarito because he felt Margarito's punching power even with 10 oz Everlast gloves. Take the trilogy out of NY and this time stand and trade if you say Margarito has no power in his punches. Margarito was gonna finish him and the doctor saved Cotto's life. Margarito is the better fighter.

actually if you look at Cotto's face afterwards you will see it was busted up and bruised and swollen through just 9 rounds. Marg's eye was obviously jacked up but there was no other damage on his face. Margarito landed a lot of bodyshots early which I think was starting to slow Cotto down late and then Margarito's uppercuts started landing. I think Cotto would have lost the last 3 rds but stayed on his feet and won since he built up such a big lead.

You can't say Margarito did nothing though. You need to look at the condition of Cotto's face after the fight and you will see the story.

That being said, Margarito is done. His eye will never hold up. This proved that if you target the eye it swell and shut and aprehensive comissions will stop the fight so they don't have a guy go blind on their watch. Even if they let it go on he would take a lot of punishment for the simple fact that he can only see out of one eye.
