Wasn't it Cotto's people who sent in Bruseles (Cotto's friend), who fought with that same style Cotto used at 140lbs. to try to gauge how a fight betwixt Floyd & Cotto would play out?

After seeing how easily Floyd dominated Bruseles back when he fought with that, 3 rounds moving, 3 rounds in the pocket style Arum had no interest in putting Cotto in with Floyd. I mean, can you blame Arum? I believe back then, Mayweather was still with Top Rank so why would Arum put two of his promising, undefeated talents in the ring together prematurely? Why not wait until they become mega stars?

Unfortunately, Cotto met a derailment when he had a close fight with Mosley, loss to Margarito, barely beat Clottey, and loss to Pacquiao.

Cotto was written off as being an elite fighter after a serie of close call fights and a couple losses.

All he had to do was keep winning and the public would've demanded it.

After the Gatti fight and ability to get Hatton or Cotto in the ring, Floyd moved up to go after another PPV superfight against Zab Judah. He fought a tune up in Sharmba Mitchell, but Zab ruined his end of the deal by losing to Baldomir.

It's true. Floyd might be the best but his opposition sure isn't. Floyd ducked too many fighters by going on vacation or by "retiring".
