Cotto was unwilling to stand in front of a plaster-less Margarito and refused to sit down on any of his punches. He instead relied on potshots and moving.

Then considering that Pacquiao already loosened the cap for him on the eye, what do you guys expect to happen.

Margarito's eye is basically to the point where Gatti's face was later in his career, any contact to it will have it looking like the Pacquiao fight all over again.

Good strategy by Cotto last night and he showed better stamina down the stretch than he did the first time around, but the rematch is a little too late to get any significant credit for in my book.

why is it too late if they've both taken the same kinds of beatings?
i think it says a lot when you can't win a major fight after being found cheating. in my opinion these last 3 fights pacquiao, mosley and cotto show that margarito is nothing without plaster wraps.

maybe it's too late for you to give him credit, but it's not too late for cotto to know he vindicated his first loss and he did it without losing a single round on some scorecards.

I agree with you, Cotto does destroy the right side of people's faces with that left hook.... WHEN HE SITS DOWN ON HIS PUNCHES.

In Margarito 1, Cotto moved just like he did in Margarito 2 and didn't sit on any of his punches. Yeah, they were snapping Margarito's head back and making loud sound effects like they were last night, but were they creating damage on Antonio's face? What was so different about lastnight and their first fight in terms of Cotto's movement. He was still hoping around and still throwing the same kind of punches that he threw in their first fight.
But this time he had a permanently damaged eye to work with.

Going into the fight Cotto knew the eye wasn't fully healed, he said on 24/7, I'm gonna take advantage of the eye just like Margarito took advantage of the plaster.

What I'm saying is that there's nothing wrong with Cotto taking advantage of the eye and doing what he's gotta do to win, in fact, I like that in a fighter.. But let's not act like what happened in the Pacquiao fight isn't long term damage and let's not act like Margarito's eye is not gonna swell up every fight from here on out if a fighter targets it.

                  Agree to an extent...

But Jack, go back to the first fight and see How Margarito was after the fight. He had some pretty swollen eyes...Point is Cotto did what he needed to do, I felt he wasn't sitting on his punches like that but they were damaging blows. Margarito bleeding tru the mouth and nose is a good example.

Cotto at 154 has TKO im his 3 fights there! that's pretty impressive.

                    Against a one-legged ***, a one-eyed shot fighter, and Ricardo Mayorga. OMG
