In Chavez's recent fight he demonstrated good counter punching ability.
He was able to block punches alot better than before as well.

I'm not saying this kid has super sharp technique, but it's something that he's building up along the way since he had no amateur background, unfortunately.

That's right... I have never seen Margarito fight like Chavez did versus Manfredo.

And here is the thing Chavez said that was the first fight he tried to box in a fight, and that he felt great, he said he will be boxing more, but also a little bit of slugging it out like he always does because it's in his nature he said.

And that was the best I have seen Chavez, and it was his first time trying to box and using his jab instead of always fighting on the inside giving his opponents advantage in the inside game because of Chavez height.

I've always admired Cotto's courage and enjoyed all his fights but he doesn't have much left. He looked good last night and got his revenge but he still isn't as good as he once was, his power is gone, and he won but got hit with punches that he should have been able to avoid. Saying all of that, he still might be able to beat Chavez Jr. because there isn't anything special about Chavez but Cotto's time is running out.

I don't mean to rain on you parade, but don't overreact to Cotto's win last night. Margarito is basically a walking heavy bag at this point, and he was still touching Cotto more than he should have been.

Well Floyd went to PR to talk to Cotto not long ago so I wouldnt be surprised if it did happen but Floyd would have an easy night at this stage of Cotto's career. The welter-wt Ortiz is a beast.
