His eye was completely shut, he was saved by the doctor and referee from remaining blind for the rest of his existence. Cotto would have still landed gutting blows on that eye with his money punch the left hook and would have shuttered that orbital bone all over again.

I have watched boxing for over 20 years and I have never seen a fight stopped liked that. He was the aggressor in almost every round. He WAS building momentum... one of the judges gave him the 9th round. I understand why it was done the way it was done but lets not pretend... Cotto was winning but I wish the fight went on longer...it looked like it was about to get interesting.
