Is there a reason why this fight is being held at a 153 lb catchweight? neither fighter is making a move from another division. I know Leonard had some catchweight fights in his career. I just don't understand what is the point if no one is moving up or down in weight, especially when it is only one pound short of the division limit

IDK how the 1lb would help Cotto at all because Marg made 150 easy enough last time but it doesn't matter really neither man will be compromised and both looked fit and ready to me. -
Cause deep down, Team Cotto don't believe all this plaster thing and acknowledge that Margarito is not any old bum. They know Margarito will come in strong as an ox at this weight and tried to drain him as much as they could have.Comment

I agree with that I believe deep down Miguel wants to believe it was plaster, I really think in the back of his mind he is not even so sure about that even though he has been very vocal about it lately.
But here is something interesting....
1st he wanted the fight at 150 Marg told him to **** off I mean we can understand that this CW bs we leave that **** to Pacquiao They agreed to 153
Then we hear it may not happen in NY, Miguel states if not in NY no fight....
Why not? I mean seriously do you want to avenge this loss or not?
Now we hear about Everlast 10 ounce gloves for both fighters...
Again all this is leading me to assume Miguel doesnt believe the plaster story himself and is looking to gain any advantage he can going in...Comment

i think cotto wanted it at 150 or something like that, but team margarito wasnt having it so they finally settled for 152 or 153 whatever the weigh isComment

Id rather have had it at 154lb, it is for the 154 title after all..... But i think Cotto just feels bitter and angry about the whole thing, remember he doesnt even think Marg should be boxing and certainly not making money off of his back, he's pissed about the wraps thing, he is pissed with Arum and pissed that he had to defend his WW belt at a weight lower than the title division limit against Manny.... So i think he just thinks **** this prick, im gonna use EVERYTHING at my advantage to my advantage, target that eye, have it at (home) and make the big bastard lose a bit more weight like i had too in this money talks dirty buisness
It seems like its not a big deal anyway, Marg made weight with room to spare and still looked Huge and healthy tooComment

Because Margo will rehydrate up to 170lbs and cotto in low 160 .. That how Margo has great punshment threshold he out weight his oppent by alot .Comment
