Is Margarito lying?

Don't be so clever. What he meant, very obviously that he personally,as far as he was concerned, never entertained any idea of having illegal wraps. And, how the hell would he ever know abyway. If you had read the original legal description of the item found in the wraps you would have read that it wasa single gauze strip, slightly hardened in places, as if it had been in water and dried, and completely wrapped around by the NEW gauze which makes the knuckle pad. So it would have been invisible, and weighed nothing, because it was just a thin gauze strip weighed no more than a fraction of an ounce, as well as being wrapped in the NEW gauze which is used for the wrappings.
That was why Margarito was found by the Commission to have known nothing about the used pad, but he was penalised because he was "the head of the team". So they gave him the lightest penalty allowable under their rules.
It seems the pre made pad was made by the trainer, for no reason that any sane person can think of. Nobody knows what he expected it to do, because as it was, the pad was harmless to anybody. The theory is that because Margarito came to camp 50 lbs overweight, the trainer tried to give him an advantage, because not only was he killed making weight, but the camp scales were later found to be nearly 2 lbs light, making it all so much worse. Margarito weighed in at 145.5 hoping he was just going to make 147.
Who knows? I don't, and certainly you don't either.Comment

The explanation requiring the fewest assumptions is most likely to be correct.
margarito cheated knowingly, willingly and got caught. He has been stumped and caught in his own lies since. The end.Comment
