With that being said, in hindsight, I actually like how Mayweather has gone about giving exclusive interviews to one site [fighthype] because it shows us [those who love boxing enough to follow sites like bs/fighthype/*********/bt/etc.] that whatever quotes we get of Mayweather when he does happen to speak to the media, we're getting the truth from the source itself.

Skip Bayless would never talk to Mayweather the way he always does if Mayweather appeared on first take.... ever. Wilbon didn't dare call Mayweather a coward and say the things he says about him on PTI when Mayweather was there. "ESPN doesn't know s--- about boxing." [Roger voice]

Now that Mayweather has remained pretty low key over the past three years about this fight... ESPN along with numerous sites and other media outlets have to eat crow and really reassess their stance on this issue or like roaches in the light, disappear and get silent. They just jumped on boxing in 2008 with the gravy train that is.

There's really no need for Mayweather to go to the media as much his counterpart does. Less talk, more action. Stop saying you agree to testing and starting moving the pen on the contract. If the media doesn't comprehend that, that's their problem... if you know boxing, then shoulder roll the media.
I actually disagree with you about Skip Bayless. I've seen enough of his interviews with athletes to know that he'd say the same exact thing he's said about Mayweather to his face if he ever came on First Take. It wouldn't end well, but he'd still say it.

        take dela hoya.

as soon as he publicly apologized to Manny, the lawsuit against him was immediately dropped. its that simple.

unfortunately, considering floyd's ego is bigger than his PPVs, the apology ain't gonna happen any time soon.

Yes, Pac did do alot of hard work getting that sparking clean reputation of having numerous extramarital affairs, and frequenting whores. Not to mention having a child by one while being married. Please tell us what "honor" he has proven he has?

        • Haymon + Ellerbe have been involved in every fight negotiation for FMJ since he left Top Rank. If Arum or another TR representative who is a powerbroker (Debouf) isn't talking to these guys then Bob and these investors are just circle jerking. Or more accurately, Bob is just jerking them off.

One of the key things when deciphering Bob Arum is to understand what he has to gain by saying what he says.

If one really wants to make something happen, shut up and get it done. One only negotiates through the media when trying to look like they are doing something while not really trying.

Arum played this card before and it worked like a charm~ and it looks like it is working again, sometimes I wish I could live the life of a sucker, I would probably be much happier but alas I just can't do that~
when team mayweather came out with that may 5th date.

arum was the main one saying he won't negotiate a fight through the media

            • There ought to be a PEACEMAKER/NEGOTIATOR that is acceptable to both camp to make this fight push through.

The Thread should be more specific on who Floyd Mayweather is? Jr. or Sr.???

Top Rank and Pac should have been dropped this lawsuit.
Why the hell would he drop the suit, Mayweather's camp should have never opened their mouth accusing someone of PED's without ANY PROOF. They should have NEVER opened their mouth in the first place then.

Being accused of using PED's can ruin your image and career. Mayweather should of thought twice before trying to ruin someone's ability to make money.

Or is it Ok now to publicly LIE about someone and their no repercussions?

Only way Pac should drop that suit is if Floyd admits PUBLICLY that he was just trying to hype a fight between the two and apologize for smearing his name.

Arum seems to say that fairly often but never follows through, at lest when talking this fight.

                  • This isn't new. Arum is known to negotiate with himself for a Mayweather fight. While Team Mayweather[Mayweather, Haymon, Ellerbe] have no idea.
