If Ayub Kalule had more power? Could he have beaten Ray Leonard

Check out some of this footage. He is nailing Ray with some good shots and Ray is walkng right through them. Seems like SRL was having problems with a southpaw.

Whay if Kalule had more power? Ray was up five rounds to three before stopping him in the 9th round. Ray took a lot of shots this fight

It would be interesting to see Ray against a Southpaw with a little more speed and power.

That's like saying "if Paulie had Maidana's power he'd be a monster". Yes, he would be. But he doesn't, so he isn't.

There were no question marks surrounding SRL's chin so more power would not have helped Kalule unless you're talking about the power from a higher weight and that would be plain dumb!

If Kalule had more power, I'm sure Leonard would've adjusted to a more boxing-oriented style. He wanted to put on a show and knock Kalule out, which is why he fought in a more aggressive style. See Leonard-Hearns for how he fought against a puncher.

Leonard fought differently in that fight because Kalule had no power. He was clearly going for the KO.

The only thing Kalule needed to beat Leonard was a gun!
