I personally wouldn't compare Gatti to Margarito. Gatti had more left in the tank, had an established/loyal fanbase in Atlantic City, and had a 6 fight W streak going into his fight with Floyd. Gatti also held the WBC 140lb belt at that point.

When I think of Gatti, "Oscar's leftover" doesn't even pop into my head, as he went on to bigger things after that. Margarito on the other hand, has been humiliated and decimated in the past 2 years. He's on the decline, and that can't be denied.

There's no reason for Floyd to fight Margarito at all. He will not get any credit, he might as well fight Canelo then.

I like the idea of Mayweather v. Margarito. I feel like Mayweather would not be able to hurt Margarito, but then again he would hit Margarito on command with pop shots. Mayweather would probably win a UD.
