Right now I'm pulling for Ward purely on the strength that he is an American fighter. But Froch really makes it hard to root against him. He's a great fighter, fights the best, and has a colorful personality. I mean who can hate that?

This is in all good fun and all but lets be honest, Calzaghe would have owned him. Probably still would after 3 years in retirement.

Glen Johnson, Michael Katsidis, Ricardo Mayorga, etc, all have top-notch resumes, too. Does that automatically guarantee their talent, and their place amongst the best in the sport?

            Of course not.

It's not just about who you've faced, you know. It's about how you performed when facing them. The stone-cold truth, is that Froch's talent doesn't quite match the resume he's mustered up in the past two years. I give him credit for his toughness and competitive nature, but he's hardly looked impressive or convincing in his top wins, has he?
            • Pascal - Pretty good win.
            • Taylor - He was getting his ass outboxed up until Taylor gasses out and is there for the taking in the latter rounds.
            • Dirrel - Struggled badly with his movement. Lucky to get a decision, in my opinion.
            • Kessler - Loses to him, despite Kessler being a battle-worn, one-eyed Andre Ward left-over at the time.
            • Abraham - Was as useless as Clottey was against Pacquiao.
            • Johnson - A 40 year old, weight-drained fighter still manages to make it competitive. The same 40 year old that gets dominated by Bute with ultimate ease, by the way.

Call me being harsh. But I'm just seeing things the way they are. He gets his props for not shying away from the toughest challenges (although with 4 of those 6 fights I've mentioned, he's had no choice in the matter), but I'm not going to automatically disregard his short-comings. Short-comings that will be highlighted next week by the superior Andre Ward. Ya' dig .

Froch does good 'Trash talk', because he's got a brain and is tongue-In-Cheek.

The Majority of Trash-talking fighters these days are trying too hard to be Ali, without realising that they don't Have the Charm, Charisma, Wit, Nor Intelligence to replicate the selling of a fight like Ali did.

The Likes of Floyd, Mayorga, Hokins etc etc.... are all very good for a second or two, but what will you hear Young boxing fans quoting in 30 years time? -

                I'm a Gorilla I'm a Dog? Poochio?

I'll show his wife a real man ( Or something along those ridiculous lines )?

I used to see people like him being ****ed every day on the wing ( Again - I don't remember illiterate quotes from people I don't and shall never respect - so maybe the quote is wrong, but my opinion remains the same )

They try so hard, Gawd bless 'em, but they fail even harder. Froch understands what they never will.

Froch is definitely p4p best at trash talk but how do you think he would have performed against Calzaghe?

Brits are amonst the best trash talkers let's be honest.

Froch sounds like he has read a book. Someone like Floyd Mayweather wouldn't know what to do with a book if you fed it to him,
