Did I read boxrec correctly? Did the judges have Alvarez ahead before the ref stopped

You'e right, I've seen Rod shine on ESPN. He does have talent. But now that I think about it, one of his fights on ESPN, I remember him getting stopped. This was when he was a prospect.

But the thing is, he never officially made it to the next level because he can't get over the ESPN hump that all big time fighters have to do.

I wouldn't put Canelo in the ESPN category, which is why I'm saying, I wouldn't be interested in the fight. Now unless you guys want to put Canelo back in the ESPN/free tv categories, we can do that. I would just ask for the WBC belt back first.

ok fine he lsot round. It was basically sparring. In sparring you arent trying to win rounds but to practice your game, which is what Canelo was doing, practicing that lame roll, which he abandoned cause he knew it sucks in his next fight.

As for Cotto, I don't know why he's number one. He might be the best JMW, but he hasn't made enough noise in that division IMO to be ranked number one. Yuri's a good boxer, but when Cotto fought him he was fighting him with a bum knee that kept giving out... didn't have Yuri that high on my list anyway either. Mayorga... that dude's crazy, and if I remember correctly he spent the whole fight trying to land bombs. Again, I don't think that win warranted him being ranked high either.
Again, this is just my personal opinion. I'm aware he was ranked number 8... apparently he jumped on after beating Ndou.... another welterweight who jumped up to fight Alvarez.
I don't know, I just fell that he's ranked so high on the list but in the year he's been on there, he's fought 3 WW out of 5 opponents.
        I respect your opinion though
He was ranked #9 in the world when he fought Rhodes. Rhodes was ranked #4. He beat Rhodes obviously he is gonna take his #4 spot.

Cintron was ranked #2 when he fough Molina who was unranked at the time. When Cintron lost, they took him off the list completely, because he lost to a gatekeeper who wasn't even ranked and also for being inactive.

This prompted Angulo to move up to the #2 spot from the #3 spot. Angulo then lost to Kirkland who was also unranked so they took him down to the #7 spot. Which lead to Canelo being moved up to the #2 spot.

Here's the thing. The kid has been a pro for like 6 years now. I think he won his first title like 3-4 years ago.

Since he's became the WBC champ, he's had like 6-7 title defenses against bums.
6-7?! Fuck me where was I when this happened?... I thought he only defended it 3 times.

I believe he won his first title in Mexico in 07 or 08.

So? Canelo was a welterweight too.

Are you referring to his Silver Belt?
Or maybe the NABF and regional belts?

Just like i dont want to see any of the top SMW fighting Sergio.
Why does weight class matter when Mayweather is better than Kirkland and would give Canelo a loss easier than Kirkland?
